Mr. Bastiste is going to be missed. We would see him nearly every morning at our store in Winnie. He'd come in for coffee, a laugh, and always a smile to those of us who were blessed to see him that day.

To the Batiste Family,
Sorry for the loss of your father and grandfather. He will be truly missed by all that knew him. He was a kind person. Him and my dad were close friends. May God give you all the strength to get through this time of sorrow and grief. May he let you all remember the good times to help you heal. You all have my deepest condolences.

As always, no ones passing is easy or good, but the memories that are sometimes left are what we remember the most. As i often called him, Nutt, he was very dependable and generous person in giving a helping hand if he knew what to do or how to do it. Even though there was a great deal of age difference between us, i respected you and was proud to say that you were a friend. A man that has very few bad words spoken about him. To the entire Batiste family, it has been a heard, tough, and a difficult past for all of you these past 18 months, but God is with you every step of the way. He will not put on you or give you more than you can bear. From our family to your family, may God be with you all in such an unexpected trying time. Nutt, RIP
