Since the begining of our friendship, your mother went out of her way to make me feel as if I was part of the family. I will never forget her caring manner and how she went out of her way to make me feel welcome in her home. I will cherish the memories I have of her and always remember how special she was.

Miss Kitty

What a wonderful woman she was! Daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother were the roles Miss Kitty lovingly fulfilled in her family. For others, she was a friend without equal. In particular, we appreciated her for her role as a steadfast friend to our mother, Agnes Bledsoe. In a world increasingly fast-paced, fleeting, and fickle, Miss Kitty was a stalwart companion. She and Mother worked together for years at Lamar University Library. They attended church together for decades at Lamar Baptist Church. But we remember, value, and love Miss Kitty best for the love and support she gave our mother through the years.

People ‘friend’ one another these days at the drop of a hat, and boast many people among their ‘friends.’ That wasn’t the kind of friendship that Miss Kitty offered. She was not an instant, fair-weather friend. She was a safe-harbor-in-a-storm kind of friend. A friend who was there at all times, doing what friends do – loving, sharing, encouraging, laughing, and crying. She gave Mother her unstinting loyalty through thick and thin (literally, as Mother was always on a diet of some kind). We will miss her, but will always hold dear Miss Kitty’s memory, and will try to live the example of true friendship that is her legacy.

How much more precious your visit last year at Maple Leaf has now become. We love you all and are keeping you in our prayers as adjustments are made and you carry on without our beautiful "Kitty". Our love, thoughts, and prayers are with you.

Sue was a fantastic lady and a fantastic neighbor. Each of you will be in our prayers and we will ask the Lord to surround you with angels and give you strength during this difficult time. We are going to miss Sue's smile and conversation. We will cherish the memories.
