Dear Al, Debbie, Phyllis, Rachel & Frankie,
I am praying for God's love and comfort to be with each of you during this most difficult time. Mrs. Durso had such a big impact on my life! Some of my favorite childhood memories involve your Mom and your family.
A couple of months ago we messaged on facebook and I would like to share her final words to me. "I think that you need 3 things to live a long life: 1. A strong sense of faith 2. A positive attitude and 3. A strong support of family and friends. God has blessed me with all three and every so often 1 add #4. a good glass of wine."
We planned to share #4 some day soon as we discussed our travels in Europe. That will not happen now but I think the thought of it made us both smile.
God's blessing and comfort to each of you! Love, Tammy

God,must have needed another angel, because he sent for you.I have learned so much about standing up for children's rights from you.I learned that a reward could be a home made slip and slide from trash can liners and a hose.I learned that when i was looking for a pair of hands to help ,to look at the ends of my arms first.I learned to accept that when you came in to appraise me,you would play with the children, and i would forget to be nervous.Mostly i learned that children feel when they are cared about, and all of them are special .Thank you for knowing you ,that has been a special experience. And i will always, always hear the bell, from the polar express.

Rachel, You had such an impact in our lives. There are found memories of you out there on the volleyball court, even when you were expecting little Rachel, you were out there with us everyday. You took us all in like we were part of your family, trips to your parents in Houston & to the beach. You will always be a part of who we are and always in our hearts. Seeing your children & listening to them speak, showed their strength & faith, they are truly a testament of your life. We love you & thanks. Elda Broussard Gaudet Assumption class of '72

Although I do not know Rachel's family, my heart is broken and sad at the loss of this wonderful lady. We just had a long conversation a week ago and I can hardly believe she is gone. My prayers are with all of you and I am so greateful she was a small part of my life.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Ms. Morse's family. She was an outstanding educator and individual. I will cherish her friendship and most of all her advice and motivation that she gave me when I decided to go back to school. Rachel, I am going to miss you, but now Heaven has one outstanding, terrific educator. God Bless.

I will always remember Mrs. Durso as my volleyball coach at Assumption. One year she was pregnant with her daughter Rachel but coached us every day and at every game. She was so energetic and full of life. I am so very proud of the many things she accomplished in her lifetime. I had not seen or spoken with her in many years, but I can truly say she had a wonderful life. God bless her family, friends and everyone that knew her. She will truly be missed by many...RIP Mrs. Durso

Dear "little" Rachel and family, Your mom was such a treasure to anyone who ever knew her. It seems like yesterday that we met and worked together at Assumption. Later in BISD we saw each other only occasionally, but she was always laughing and full of energy. Sometimes she would have a meeting in a school where I was teaching. She would always leave a funny note in my box. We will miss her, but it will undoubtedly be a lot more lively in heaven.
God bless, Paul Miller

Rachel's Family, I want you to know how much I will miss Rachel. Her smile, her giggles, her straight shooting style and especially the stories of her children and grandchildren. There's Ben and the alligator farm, the girls and their trip to Costa Rica, a night recently at the movies with her friends; just to name a few. No doubt she "lived" her life. Such an inspiration for me. I believe you now have another guardian angel.
