I was so blessed by Sterling. He "crashed" our ladies Precept Class two years ago. We grew very fond of him and his heart for our LORD and for helping other people was amazing. A true reflection of the love of our Savior.
We will miss him but are so thankful we will see him again.

The Big Dog and I will miss Sterling's visits and banter as we go forward. We visited on Friday 6/8 to talk about how things had changed and he said that he was ready for the new phase of his life. What a giant leap! He will live on in our memories as a unique man with charisma to spare! God Bless!

DEAR STERLING,
YOU WERE A GOOD, HONORABLE MAN IN THIS LIFETIME. ONCE A HUSBAND, ALWAYS A FRIEND. I KNOW YOU ARE AT THE RIGHT HAND OF THE LORD, WHOM YOU SERVED WITH PASSION. REST IN ETERNAL PEACE MY DEAR FRIEND.

I've enjoyed the last 5 years of getting to know you better and becoming a friend. While we were away from home, you always said you enjoyed watering and talking to our plants. They always bloomed for you. I loved the title you gave me, "The Cookie Lady"; it was always a pleasure baking cookies for you. It has been fun watching all the Greenies enjoy their friendship over the years and I am glad you were able to be a part of the Class of 65's friendship. Carol Ann ( The Cookie Lady)

Sterling, where do I begin? We have been friends since junior high days. At every class reunion or mini class get together, you would always joke with others that you still owed me $3.00 gas money for taking you to school. If the truth be known, I owe you Sterling for being a devoted friend for all these years. There was nothing I could ask of you that you wouldn't do for me. I will miss the many phone calls from you when I would just answer "Arceneaux" I will think of you everytime I pass Dairy Queen or when I see a man riding a bicycle. I will miss you my friend. Until we see each other again. Love you. Donnie

I met Sterling through my husband Jim, a fellow SPHS classmate, and liked him immediately. He walked the mall often, and would always stop by my office and ask me "Are you still married to that old boy from South Park?", always with laughter in his voice. Then he would say, "Bless you!". I had the privilege of sitting by Sterling at supper Tuesday night at the SPHS meeting, and was also honored to have taken some of the last photos of Sterling. I am deeply saddened by his passing, but rejoicing that he is at home with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! Rest in peace, my sweet friend. He will be missed! Praying for the family and friends!

I was so saddened to hear of Sterling's passing. I was fortunate enough to see him just a few weeks ago at my dad's funeral in Austin. It meant a lot to us that he made that long trip from Beaumont. Jay, our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

Upon first hearing of Sterling going "Home", my heart was sad. But, then I realized that he was walking on those golden streets with our Lord.

Sterling and I went to school together from the 1st grade at Giles Elementary through graduation in 1965 at South Park High School. Our mothers were in the PTA together as well as homeroom mothers. So, Sterling and I had a special friendship. We grew closer together these last few years during the mini class reunions of the SPHS class of '65. What a treasure he was and is to me.

Heartfelt prayers to Sterlings family and many friends. He will be missed by all.
