2014: I have just learned of the passing my friend, Severiano. He was my council, my guide and my good amigo. His laughter was contagious and sincere. I could always count on him for the right direction. His words were full of love and concern. I am proud to have known him, and be counted as one of his friends. I will miss my dear Father Fernandez. May he rest in peace.
Love, Lupe DeAnda Harris

I will miss my very good friend, but I know he is at peace, and in Heaven joking with my Mother again. Fr. Fernandez was a wonderful human being, and a great priest. So many times I hear myself quoting something he taught in a sermon, or said on his visits to our home. I'll never forget his awe-inspiring Midnight Masses at St. Joseph's in Waxahachie, how beautiful the Church and the service were, and hearing him say the Lord's Prayer in his wonderful voice, with Sounds of Silence in the background. I remember him telling me in the confessional that my red nail polish looked tacky, and I haven't worn it since. We laughed so hard about that over a couple of plates of Mexican food in 2006, and he said he wanted to be remembered as that kind of priest. My condolences to his family and friends - we will all miss him.

You will be missed a lot, "My Friend". You were so much to our family and I know you are Happy and Walking with Lord right now. We will always miss you very much, especially my Mom who loved your Spirit and Infectious Smile of Yours alone. Your home now and I know you are thrilled. But, your Spirit lives on with everyone you've touched. Until we meet again, My Friend.

My heart is heavy with the passing of Father Fernandez. He was one of the most influential people in my life and had a huge role in making me the woman I am today. For that, I will be forever thankful. Not only did he teach me about my faith, but, he taught me about life and how to make the best of it. I will never forget his jokes, laughs, and positive outlook on life. Father was such an incredible person and I feel blessed for everything that I learned from him. Although I am saddened with his death, I find joy in it as well. For I know that I will see him again one day.
