Pat,
I want to tell you how much I looked up to and admired your Dad. He was always so kind to my family and I. Most grown-ups wouldn't give us kids the time of day, but not him. He always gave us the attention we begged for. He also "introduced" me to Skoal. I'll never forget, sitting (laying) in the back of my mom's van after I swallowed some and feeling horrible. I asked for it and I got it! He will always be "Sheriff" Culbertson to me. He will be truly missed by many. My prayers to you and your family. God bless.

Honesty and integrity guided his life. We were neighbors in Beaumont in his first days as sheriff. He treated our son as if he was his own. We loved Dick and Jo and offer our sincere condolences to his family. May God give you peace and comfort in remembering the years of honorable service he gave his community.

Richard was a loving husband and father. It was so wonderful to have them visit us in our home several years ago when Beaumont had a terrible storm. Our prayers are with Jo,Pat,Ricky and the grandchildren. We love you.

Pat, Rick and aunt Jo. Please accept my prayers to each of you at this time. In my eyes uncle Richard was a great man. He was so helpful to me during a stressful time in my life many years ago and I have never forgotten his strength and the strength he instilled in me during that time in my life. Yes, he was a great man and I can also rememeber some times when he was a real prankster also. I guess one of the man things that I learned from him was that it was always important to do what was right in the eyes of the Lord no matter what others thought or said. I will miss you uncle Richard.
