My Dad introduced me to John, more than six years ago. He told me, what a great guy John was. I have learned in the past five years, just what he meant. The day I met him, he was going to help a friend in need. That defines John Brekel, if you needed him, he was there. One of the best people I have been privileged to know. Glad I had the opportunity, to share him with a great, and wonderful, family.

I will miss you John. Some of my best lessons on work ethic I learned from you. You showed us how important the human element is. You believed in how we can change the world just by giving a little extra. "Quality is in the details"

John was an amazing gentleman. I am so blessed to have known him and worked with him. He always had time to listen and provide guidance. He was a selfless individual who always put others before himself. I am proud to call him my friend. I will be praying for John's family, coworkers, and friends that God will give some peace to you. Keep all those precious memories in your heart. When you get lonely, John will be right there...in your heart. John loved flying. I find some peace in knowing that all the angel instruments will be taken care of by the best tech in Heaven. Fly high, my friend. I will miss you

I was very fortunate to know John. He truly was a man I looked up to. Just watching the way he worked inspired me.... although I wasn't driven as much as he was. John will be deeply missed by his friends here at the Refinery. May God continue to comfort your family during this time. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family.
