George has a tremendous heart. I will never forget the Sunday morning I came to your house unannounced and poured out my fractured heart. His heart and arms surrounded me with kindness and love. He was a dear friend.

Mr. Shakour was one of my best, most favorite teachers. He taught us a lot about economics, as well as about life.
You will be greatly missed Mr. Shakour. When I had time, I was going to visit Memorial, and you were definitely going to be a person I was going to visit. It's too bad you had to go, but everything in life happens for a reason. May you rest in peace in a big beach house in the sky, Mr. Shakour.

Dearest Sherri and Family,

As you know, we are so saddened by George's passing.
He was such a dedicated Christian Orthodox, as well as a
devoted teacher to the educational profession. He was
so deserving of his most recent award, Memorial High
School Teacher of the Year for 2011-12. According to
counseling colleagues, he is already truly missed by his students of Economics. He was a champion of the meaning
of spiritual awareness and fulfilled the definition of leader,
instructor, professional, and friend. We already miss him
so very much.

In love of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit,

David and Anne Payne
