I just found out that Mr. Charles Ray passed away, and 35 year old memories have come flooding back. I recall my mom, Phyllis, sending me down Combs Dr. on my big wheel to pick up soap from him. Everytime, without fail, he told me he was going to cut my ear off, and for some reason, in my child's mind, I was always disappointed when he didn't. Though it's been many, many years since we last met, I have fond memories that I'll keep forever. My condolences to Ms. Charlotte and Charlie. He was a good man.

To Charlie Jr and ALL of his family. I am so sorry for your loss. I know Charles Ray and Mom went to school together just like you and I did. I know he was upset when she passed. We miss her very much and I Know what you are going through. You are in my prayers and if there is anyhting I can do, please let me know. Lost of hugs!

To Charlotte and all the family,

I met Charles several times thru Walter my brother. He was always a polite, pleasant, gentleman and a joy to be around.

I'm truly sorry for your loss. I pray that God will strengthen your spirits at this time and allow you to remember the great times that you had with Charles. I hope those memories sustain you in this time of grief. God Bless you all.

Charles ray was my best man at my wedding. We will miss him and that smile and laugh. The thing I like the most was you always knew where you stood. If he like you you knew it and if he did'nt you knew it.

Uncle Charles Ray,
I always loved going to your house as a little girl. You and I shared the same love for animals. I loved playing with whatever dog (usually a lab) you had, we would play fetch for what seemed like hours. You were always fun to be around. I don't think I ever saw you in a bad mood. You were a Huckaby though and I'm SURE you were some time. LOL
You don't know how much you meant to Clarence and me after Daddy died especially. I love the fact that you spent time with Clarence did the things that Daddy would've done if he were here. I know you are not Larrry but it was like having a piece of him here for the last 23 years and that's been awesome! You will be missed by many and there is a God shaped hole in our hearts that only HE can fill. We love you and will NEVER forget you!
Love always,
Tabitha Darlene (as you would call me)! : )
