I had the honor of meeting Mr and Mrs. Anderson four years ago at the Lamar Scholarship dinner. I am the current recipient of the Virginia Anderson Presidential Scholarship. Mrs. Anderson was such an inspiration to me. I have never met anyone with the passion she had for learning, teaching and most importantly Family and Consumer Sciences. She truly has impacted my life in a way that she will never know. I am truly grateful to have had the opportunity of cultivating a relationship with her. I am forever grateful for the finanial contibutions and the opportunities this scholarship has provided. Although she is no longer with us, the impact she made on countless numbers of people still lives on forever.

I first met Virginia back in the late 80's when I first came to work for the National Council on Family Relations (NCFR). She was instrumental in the development and ongoing maintenance of the Certified Family Life Educator (CFLE) program. She was so supportive and kind. She will be missed.

Virginia was recognized among professionals as the quintessential Home Economist/Family Life Educator of her time. Honored at both the state and national levels for her pioneering work in the field, her influence will reverberate for years to come in the lives of young professionals and Texas families. I will miss my room- mate of myriad professional meetings for over 40 years. Fond memories... sharing family news and walking miles to take photos of the cities' architectual features for her design classes! Nelwyn Moore

Such a wonderful person. Mrs. Anderson is, without a doubt, one of the finest ladies I have ever had to privilege to know. She will be missed by many, especially those of us in her St. Andrews family. May God grant you all the peace and comfort only He can give. Blessings, The Allen family

Virgina was a very special part of our Water Aerobics class. She has been and will continue to be missed, her positive, upbeat personality was always a pleasure to see. Her family is in our prayers during your time of loss.

Virginia was a treasured member of the Lamar Club and the book club that grew out of it. We met today and were saddened to hear Virginia had died. She was such a gracious lady and I imagine an asset to any group in which she participated.
