Dear Mrs. Bess and family; What a blessing it was to have grown-up knowing both you and Coach Bess. I was in the class of '61 at French High School. Your warm and loving spirits were such an influence to all the students. May the Lord give you strength and peace during this sad time.

Much love to you,
Doris

I remember Mr. Bess as the counselor at Crockett Junior High School in Beaumont when I attended in the late 1960's. We attended the First Baptist Church Beaumont also.

Mr. Bess was well-liked by the student body and had a pleasant manner. He supported Career Day activities and brought my father in to explain engineering to the students.

I have good memories of Mr. Bess and offer condolences to his family.

I am deeply saddened to learn of the death of Coach Bess. He was my track coach at French High School 1963-1966 and I loved him dearly. He was a great coach and father-figure to me. He trained and inspired me to perform better than my natural ability would have allowed. He made an everlasting impression on me and was a bright spot on my growing up in Beaumont.

Kyle and family: I have "tasted of this cup" with the lose of
my own Dad and I remember the kindness of you and yours.
I knew your Dad through French High and at David Crockett
Jr. High. I got to know your Mom and Dad better as they attended so many events at our church. Some of my sweetest memories are of the kind and attentive care that you and Joy provided to your folks. Your Dad was known as a sweet, gentle man and I can see that special kindness reflected in your treatment of them and others. You and Joy came from
homegrown, loving families, and you both are blessed with the
gifts of comfort and service. Our God is good and will stay
close to you. I have been praying for you all and will continue
to lift your family up to the "Great I AM!"

I am from the 1961 Class of FHS. I had Coach Bess for American History and as my football coach in my junior year when I transferred to FHS from St. Anthony's HS. I last saw him at the Sears store in Baytown, Tx. of all places. I have nothing but fond and lasting memories of Coach Bess and the prayers of my family are with you. Rest in peace Coach Bess.

Mrs. Bess, I'm so for your loss. But knowing you will meet in heaven later is a blessing.

Kyle,
I wanted to send my regrets about your father's death. I remember you talking about him right before Thanksgiving last year, and I was touched by your family's desire to stay with time honored traditions, even as the family has become more spread out geographically.

Please give my regards to Kody.

Gail Jenkins
