Kenneth and Sue, I am so sorry to hear about Myrtis Mae. I am at work in the Gulf of Mexico and didn’t learn of her passing until January 8, 2012. I pray that God will be with each of you, at this time. I pray that God with wrap each of you in his loving and tender arms, that he will send the Holy Spirit to comfort you. Myrtis Mae was a dear friend for many, many years. I will always remember her; she touched so many young people’s lives in Bastrop while she lived there. She was like a grandma to so many of us kids growing up in Bastrop First Assembly of God

I was a teenager in Bastrop, Louisiana when God brought Myrtis Mae into my life. She has impacted me in more ways than she could ever know. Even after we both moved away from Louisiana, we remained in touch. If I didn't keep in touch...boy, would she let me hear it! I was deeply saddened to hear of her passing because I'll miss our talks and prayer sessions. However, I'm filled with joy at the thought of her in the presence of God. Our loss is truly Heaven's gain.

Myrtis was a blessing to Gary and I. She was a great day care worker and our daughters have fond memories of her care when they would visit their grandparents in Bastrop. Myrtis heart for missions was huge. She challenged many to take a step to bless others and in turn were blessed themselves. Heaven is richer for her homegoing.

As I am saddened by the loss of an awesome woman of God, they angels and my daddy are rejoicing that Granny is home. Like the Word says," She fought the good fight." Now she is being rewarded for the 90 years that she prayed for and told any and everyone she met about Jesus. She will have to have an eighteen wheeler just to carry her crown and the thousands of jewels on it. I love you Granny!
