Getting to know Clayton Weeks was such a special gift in my life. He taught me a great lesson - you are never too old for activism, faith, and a love for your community. Mike and I want to extend our thoughts and prayers to the family and want all of you to know how much we appreciated and admired your loved one. I will truly miss him.

Gaynell, My heart is very sad, as I just found out this afternoon and would have liked to have been there for you this morning. Watched the keepsake video to watch your father growing up, and read the messages, so I could get to know him. Looks like your dad was a wonderful father and an amazing grandfather, and even more, a fantastic Christian. I was at your mother's funeral and would have liked to have been at your father's too. He will always have a place in your hearts. May God wrap His arms tight around each of you, and see you through this, and replace all the sorrow with all the fantastic memories. Love you, Stanley and Sylvia Searle

I am so blessed to be a part of theWeeks family. Thanks mom (Masel Weeks Tucker) for bringing me into such a loving extended family. After loosing my dad in my 20s, Uncle Clayton kinda filled that gap for me. My dad and Uncle Clayton were so much alike. I could close my eyes when I was with Uncle Clayton and think of my dad. It was comforting espcially after losing mom. Thanks to the Clayton Weeks' family for sharing him with me. I love you all dearly!!!

My thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time of loss. Clayton was a wonderful friend of mine through church and he will be greatly missed. I know he is with the Lord and is watching over all of us smiling. I cannot express how much kindness he has spread to me and my family over the past few years and he truly exemplified God's work through the church. Sincerely, Tracy Foster

Bro. Clayton was a servant of God and mentor to me and my family. He served his Lord and Church well. It was an honor to know him. We will see him again! Psalm 116:15 "Precious in the sight of the Lord, is the death of His saints."

I was very sad to read about Clayton's death. He has always been a very nice and compassionate man. My mother (Jimmie Buxton) always thought so highly of him. When I would see him at SWBT functions and church, mother would always remind me to be on my best behavior because "Clayton is a special friend of mine". I was so pleased to see him at my mother's visitation earlier this year.It reminded me of how special he was. My prayers are with your family, Patty

My PawPaw meant the absolute world to me! He was the strongest most caring man I knew. He was the tallest pillar of our family and he always brought us together. He was a man of God in every way. In my eyes he could do no wrong.
I remember the way he smelled and how he always reached out his hand for you to shake when you walked in the door. I remember the sound his recliner made when he would get in and out of it. I remember helping him in the garden; we would always go out to the garden with the basket in hand and pick the vegetables. Even though I don’t particularly like tomatoes and bell peppers I can sure tell you when they are ready to be picked because he taught me how. I remember when he got his shoe shining kit and taught me the proper way to shine shoes.
I loved how every time I saw him he always had a story to tell me. I remember the huge smile he had on his face when I told him that I had sent my voter registration card off. I thank God that I have so many cherished memories with him! I remember how he would always wink and smile at you. He brought so much joy and happiness to my life and to others.
Even in the last moments of his life I could feel his strong-willed spirit all around me and now it lives inside us all. Although it saddens me he is no longer with us I’m thankful he is in a wonderful and glorious place where there is no pain or suffering! I love you & miss you PawPaw!

What Clayton meant to me... This is a question that I always seem to ask myself on the passing of a loved one. It is something that you would think would be an easy thing to do, when in fact it often leads you through a gauntlet of mixed emotions and memories. But this time it is different and the reason can be summed up by sharing with you a private moment that he and I had a few weeks ago. On one of the last times I visited him in ICU, as we were all leaving, I turned around at the elevator to go back into the room and thank him for all of the things that he had done for me over the years. After thanking him for being there for me he did not respond with the expected "Your welcome", he simply looked at me with a few tears in his eyes and said, Frank it's because I love you... That's why it is easy for me to KNOW what Clayton meant to me. To me he was the open expression of honest love for the people around him - Family, friend, and stranger...
