Nothing that is loved is ever lost... No one who has touched a life, who has brought beauty to the world, is ever truly gone. Psalm 34:18 "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted" God bless you all. Your sister, Julie Mangus Gustafson

Renate was my first German friend in Beaumont and in the States and we spent many fun times together with our other friends and kids until I moved to Phoenix in 1986! I am so sorry to hear that she is gone - but I will always think of her as a friend and my heart goes out to her family. Baerbel (Barb)

Bill, I will miss Renate and all her wonderful uplifting emails! We became friends on line somewhere around 1993-4 as part of the Womans' Wire bunch that would gather via computer everyday. She has been such a great joy to have as a friend as she shared pictures of her "babies", humming birds, and truly inspirational nature photos. I know that we all will miss her, but know that she is in a far better place of no suffering. My love and prayers to all of the family.. Paula Carnes aka Sawgrass

No matter which words we will find now, it will always remain the feeling that there is something we could have said to you. All words we are able to write here can't explain this feeling. No words in the world can express how much we will miss our beloved aunty and sister. We will love and remember you forever.
Your Gabi (Sister) Andy (Nephew)

Dear Bill:
My prayers are with you at this very sad time. I was so surprised and saddened when Peter Power sent me the note of Renate's death. I will pray for you in a special way at Mass these evening.
I am sorry that I can't be with you this afternoon for the funeral. I am giving a retreat that I just can't leave. Though my heart and prayers are with you today.
Fr. Sinclair

Dear Bill and family. I know I did know Renate for a very long time but I felt like I had know her always. That is just how Renate was. She could make you feel like her best friend it takes a special person to be able to do that and she was one of those people. I will always remember her for her strength, kindness, compassion and the love she had for all her furry little friends. Not to mention the feathered ones. Renate will be missed so much by all who knew her. I will not be able to be at the service tomorrow but please know I will be there in my heart. Keep your memories close to your heart for they are our treasures.
My love to you and your family Carla

Bill, Little Bill, Chris, Renate was a friend to me. Warm, caring, always giving. I don't think she ever really realized what an impact she has made on so many lives. I will miss being able to call her to fix my computer, tell me how to cook something and news about the neighborhood. She knew what it meant to be a friend.
You will be in my prayers in the coming days and months.
