I was sorry to hear Mr. Oliver died. Your dad was a great man. The scouts really respected him. It was always a pleasure to see him. I think he enjoyed working with the scouts as much as the scouts enjoyed him. He really gave back alot in his later years through his tutoring at schools and helping with boy scouts at Trinity. Both of your parents were such nice people they will be truly missed. My prayers and thoughts are with you.

To the family of Commander Oliver. What a outstanding man your father must have been. Hard at times yes that I am sure, but a man of men no doubt. You have my utmost respect and sympathy. May God comfort you during this difficult time. Your father is fine and is in loving arms.

Dear Suellen, David, Betsy, and Meigan, My heart is sad for you. Your dad was a very great man--a man of integrity and humor, tough and sweet at the same time, serving others as long as he was able. He just led an exemplary life! I'll bet he's got his pocket notepad at the ready in heaven. Whenever I drive by the Longfellow apartments, I miss seeing his flowers. It's heartwarming, though, to know that he and "Pete" are together again. My best to all of you, Carol Matthews
