Sigh, I missed this notice. I was talking to a colleague today about the year I attended Lamar U. (1964) and how good the school really was. (Point of reference, I have three degrees and attended 6 universities). I told him that Dr. Kirksey's statistics course was maybe the best course I ever took anywhere. I loved Dr. Charles Darwin Kirksey as a professor and a person! I googled his name tonight and learned of his death. Family, I want you to know that he made a difference in thousands of lives.

Dara, and Dale, I hope Uncle Darwin didn't suffer any, in his last days. Rember those days when we all went camping, and going to the beach on weekends, and we all staying with you guys during Hurricane Carla. What an experience! Met a friend up here in DFW that your Dad taught at Lamar. What a small world. Your Dad will be missed. God Bless, Mike & Vicki

Please accept our sincerest condolences. In the short time I visited with him, I could tell he lived a full and happy life.

Dr. Kirksey was a fine man and excellent teacher. I remember him from my senior year at Lamar--he set high standards and having done well in his stat class in 1965, I was well prepared for the stat class at UH when I worked on my masters. I will remember him and you all in my prayers.

Dara: I loved and admired your Dad. He reminded me so much of mine and the "Kirksey Clan." Both of them had many tales to tell us boys about their youthful days and WWII. We enjoyed our get togethers when we were all in the Beaumont area. I will miss him greatly but will always cherish the memories.
