Dear Lois, Courtnay and Russell, What can we say about mother's brother and my uncle? Mother remembers her dad saying she had a brother and her running around telling everyone: "I've got a baby brother!" I remember growing up with the best uncle a boy ever had. Oh, this is so difficult. Everyone else expressed their sentiments so beautifully! He will be missed like no other, but the memories will last forever as he has a special place in our hearts. With all our love, Gertrude and Alan.

Uncle Eugene,
You will be tremendously missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing you. I was so happy you and Lois were able to make our wedding and be able to meet Kristen. She had heard so many good stories about you which made it great to introduce her to you. We will miss you!

Dear Papa Gene,
Thank you for being such a wonderful father-in-law to me. I am blessed to have had the opportunity to know and love you. You immediately welcomed me into the family and always greeted me with a big bear hug. I will never forget the time when I was perplexed as to how to address you. Russell and I were not even married yet, and I was not sure if I should address you as, “Mr. Pelech, “Eugene, etc….I felt a little awkward and nervous as any newcomer into a big family would feel. You were so kind and reassuring when you told me sincerely, “You can call me Dad.” That simple act of affirmation was comforting to me and it spoke volumes about your generosity of spirit. Russell’s devotion to his family can be directly attributed to the parenting he received from you. The dedication you displayed to your family mirrors Russell’s dedication to his own family. I am so appreciative of the amazing example you set forth for Russell, it helped shape him into the most wonderful husband and father he is. Russell, Madeline, and I will always keep your memory close. You left an indelible heart-print in our lives. Love, Olivia

Dear Papa Gene,
Thank you for being the BEST grandfather to me! I love you and will miss you so much. Thank you for sharing your heart with me. I will always remember how your beard reminded me of Santa Claus when I kissed you, and how it tickled me and made me laugh. I will always remember the oak tree we planted together. I will always remember you cradling me in your big arms and calling me, tiger. I will always remember how you found the miraculous strength during your illness to put together daddy’s old swing set for me to play with. I will always remember seeing you feeding the birds and tending your gardens. I will always remember this past spring, when so many butterflies emerged from their chrysalis cocoons right in front of my eyes! Those hundreds of caterpillars that made, "Camp Pelech," their home during their metamorphosis knew that your gardens were the most wonderful and magical…
I love you and will hold your memory in my heart always.
Love, Madeline Lee Pelech
