David is a true hero. I am truly sorry for your loss and your sadness at this time. I lost a nephew(SPC Darrel Shipp) in Iraq in 2007 by an ied. My thoughts and prayers are with your entire family. As I am a mother of two serving in the Navy, I want you all to know how much I appreciate your loved one's dedication and ultimate sacrifice for our country. It will not go unforgotten.

My deepest condolences to all of David's family & friends. I'm grateful for his service. He sounds like an incredible young man who has accomplished much, in the service, of his country. I'm grateful to Rep. Brady for posting this on his FB page.

david was a wonderful friend we havent seen each other in a long time which i regret but reading his memorial made me cry r.i.p david i hope to see u with all my other friends and love ones ive lost along the way some day until then fly high my dear friend.

First off I want to thank you, PFC David Drake for your ultimate sacrifice for my freedom! For your parents; I am so very sorry for your loss and I know your pain. there will be darkness and sorrow for the rest of our lives, but we will also find small moments of joy. I pray that God will wrap you in his loving, comforting arms and help you on this journey. we never ask for the title of grieving parent, nor do we want to wear these horrible concrete shoes, but someday, I hope we find a way to make them a little more comfortable until we can be with our children again. I will continue to pray for your family.

He was an amazing person and made me feel welcome in a town that didn't. He was a good friend in high school and will be missed by many.

David. We went to school together and u was such a great person. U was always there for ur friends and everyone u knew. And we are all going to miss that about u. When u passed u took a piece of all of ur friends with u that can never be replaced. I miss u more and more every day... And sometimes it still doesn't seem real. But anyways R.I.P David we love and miss you so much.
