God bless your family through this most difficult time. Your son is a true hero! Your sacrifice will not be forgotten!

I did not know your son, but my heartfelt sympathies go to you and your family. My husband is currently serving as the Texas National Guard commander of the agribusiness developement team that is stationed in Ghazni. He said that the men who are part of the engineering battalion that your son was a part of are the unsung heros of this war. He would not be able to do his job is it weren't for them. My prayers are with you on the lose of your son. Nothing that I say can take away the pain, but I want you to know that he was a hero to me and my family.

Sincerely,
Jo Anna Gaudsmith

Tommye & Family

I said a prayer for you today
And know God must have heard,
I felt the answer in my heart
Although He spoke no word.
I didn't ask for wealth or fame,
I knew you wouldn't mind.
I asked Him to send treasures
Of a far more lasting kind.
I asked that He'd be near you
At the start of each new day,
To grant you health and blessings
And friends to share your way.
I asked for happiness for you
In all things great and small,
But it was for His loving care
I prayed the most of all.

You raised an American Hero!
God Bless you & your family.

To the family of PFC David Drake,
I have never met your family or your son but I would like to express my deepest sympathy in the lost of your loved one. From seeing the keepsake on line I see how much he was so loved and how proud he was to be in the military. The sacrifice that he made for his country was a tragedy. I pray that you will all find comfort in our Lord and inner peace. Because of your son and many others our USA flag flies freely and we have the freedoms we have now. May God continue to Bless your family and God Bless the United States of America.
PFC David Drake was a true hero.

I read about Pfc Drake's death and was so touched I had to leave a message.
I count it an honor to have had him as a Southeast Texas neighbor.
His courage and passion to defend his country move me to tears.
What a beautiful thing it is to honor an American Hero and Pfc. Drake certainly is one.
