I just now learned of Coach Tanner's death. Coach Tanner was my favorite coach. I played basketball for him at Ridgedale in the 80s. I played in college but none of the coaches were as good as Coach Tanner. He is still coaching today in a sense because now that I coach my son's team I use Coach Tanner's techniques, especially the full court press, motion offense, 1-2-2 defense, and espeically the line drills! I loved Coach Tanner and have missed him for 30 years.

My sympathies to the family. Coach Tanner was a big part of our lives at River Oaks in the late 70's. He taught us all how to drive back when the LA legal age was 15! Great man and a great coach we all loved. Leigh Ann Buller Schroeder

Dear Aunt Eunice, my cousins and family, We are so sorry for the loss our Uncle Harlan. He was an incredible example of a Husband,Father,Uncle, Teacher and a good Christian man.
