Our prayers and thoughts will be with the Joe Faggard Family. I first met Joe when the Self-Powers Construction Company built part of the Roll Over Pass over 50 years ago in 1958. How exciting it was to live in Gilchrist and High Island. Joe played an important part in nearly every activity in the community. He truly will be remembered as a legend, Christain, kind, considerate and humble man born in France. Remembering our talks and visits frequently over the many years especialy the last five years. Thanks for rolling the time back in history so we could all enjoy the past again. Your stories were awsome and enjoyed by many. We love you Joe. We will remember you forever.
Sincerely yours,
Coach Campbell

I met Mr. Joe Faggard back in the 70's. when i got in a little trouble down at the beach, just boys being boys. Joe had a little talk with us and we then looked at him like a father figure. We became friends and later in years he became a good customer of mine. He will be missed!! "Rest in Peace" Joe. Joe Faggard had a big heart and also some very big shoes to fill. A.C. Hilton tried by taking over as constable for several years and myself for ten years after Joe had retired. I never felt that Joe had really retired as constable due to the fact he never stopped workng for his community. Joe was still always there to help us out during hurricanes, funerals, crab fest, parades, and any many many other functions on the peninsula. There were many times during my career I went to Joe for advice and I truly respected him. Joe Faggard loved the Bolivar Peninsula and the Bolivar Peninsula loves Joe Faggard. Rest in Peace Joe.

May the Lord comfort you in this time of sorrow. Although I knew Joe only briefly, I enjoyed the times I was able to visit and hear all about all his collections and pictures. It was a joy to know him.

We were so very sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Faggard. For a long time in our "growing up" years, Mr. Faggard was a part of our life. Looking out for him when we were drinking under age at Leger's and other hang outs in those days! We really did like him though. He was always fair. He treated everyone the same, no matter who they were! Texas has lost one of it's characters, for sure!
