From the staff of the Julie Rogers “Gift of Life” Program
There are individuals who come into our lives and who leave an indelible mark not only on our hearts but on our very souls. They are, most often, ordinary people who just happen to possess a certain magnetism and a love of life that draw us in and keep us buoyed. James Nichols was one of these people and a man whom we dearly loved and admired. James’ association with the Julie Rogers “Gift of Life” Program began when became an integral part of the organization’s Prostate Cancer Support Group many years ago. For the last several years, he was a dedicated volunteer, an advocate in the fight against cancer and the “voice” we depended upon to spread the message of the importance of early detection. He attended the services of many area churches, addressing the congregations with passionate pleas to the men (and to the women who love them), encouraging them to attend our free screenings and to be tested for this disease. James Nichols was a man of character and always the consummate gentleman. The entire staff of the “Gift of Life” will miss the “gentle man,” as will his many friends in the support group and the countless others who’s lives he touched. Jim, thank you for being our friend. You will always remain in our hearts.

Heaven has gained another shining star with this wonderful man. I was in awe of him since I was a teenager. I never saw him without his bright smile and kind words. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
