Dear Fontenot Family,
My deepest sympathy to all of you. I'm so very sad to hear about David. He was such a precious person. It was so good to be able to visit with him at our SAHS class of '61 reunion in April. My prayers are with you and may all the special memories you have of him live forever in your hearts. God Bless you. Mary Elizabeth (Chirafis) Kirkwood

To The Fontenot Family,
As Barry Teare's youngest sister, I have heard about David all of my life!! The words loyalty, integrity, come to mind when I would hear his friends Billy,Bobby ,Barry and David Phelan(RIP) speak of him!Barry and his friends were at our house very often, they would be outside throwing the football and drawing up the next play as most boys do.The most memorable of all was the LAUGHTER,they never stopped laughing. Now David is in heaven and he is in no pain,so he feels good again and he is laughing and laughing like he did those summer days with his buddy's!!!!
Love, Bridget Teare

We loved David so much. Uncle Dave always brought happiness and good times to all our family gatherings. Even as sick as he was, he would call and check on us. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. May God bless his family and may he rest in peace.
