She was an inspirational, kind woman and a blessing to those who knew her. Over the decades my father (her first cousin) and other family members had shared wonderful memories of her as well as 1920's-1960's family photos. Her passing is indeed a sad loss to our family as well as her resourcefulness and knowledge of our Coykendall family history. She stayed connected with so many of our large family over her lifetime, and she was loved and appreciated by all. God speed to her immediate family. May Mary "Bitsy" Coykendall Kirk know how much her extended family loved her and may she Rest In Peace!

I have the privilege of many great memories of Bitsey. She was actually my mother's first cousin, Jean Coykendall Whitney. She was always kind, especially to my daughter Amy and it was obvious how she loved her family dearly. My prayers are with you Danny and Bonnie, as well as with her brothers Roy, Danny, and Art and the extended families of all.

I had the great honor to have worked with Mary at Chenier Business School years ago as an instructor. She gave me some ink drawings of Fort Ticonderoga because that is where I was born. I cherish those drawings and her memory. My prayers are with the family.

I heard of Bitsie's death but moments ago. I have talked to her a few times over the years and knew that she had medical issues. We were cousins. I send the very best of my condolences to all family members during this most tragic occurance.

I'm very sorry to learn of the loss of my mom's cousin, Bitsey. My mom is Virginia (Ginnie) Rodgers Hamel, the daughter of Mary Ann Coykendall Rodgers and Herman Scotty Rodgers. I lived in Newburgh in 1968 with my mom and younger brother, Kent, so we could be close of my grandma while my dad was serving in Viet Nam. We often spent the weekends with Bitsey and her family. I remember her buying me a cinnamon lollipop. I'd never had one before and think of her whenever I have one....even to this day. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you all.
