James "Jim" Thomas O'Brien

Mr. OB I cant explain how sad it is to hear that you are gone. But god sure did get one of his best angels when he called you up. Everytime we would have a substitute we would always hope that it was you, with your inspirational words and storys. RIP You Will Be Missed.

Dear O'Brien Family, I know that with all the support from the community & school you must know how respected and loved Mr. O'Brien was. He was amazing. As a student, he was the sub everyone wanted to have because of his stories, wisdom and advice. I'm so thankful I was blessed to have him in my life. His legacy is unparalleled to anyone I've EVER known. I know he is in a better place, although it's still hard to lose a loved one. I will pray for peace and strength for your family - keep your head up. Mr. O'Brien is smiling down.

I am going to miss Mr. O'Brien Smiles and hugs and his saying god bless you for what you do out there. He inspired me with his kindness and he was always so happy at West Brook and if we had more people in the world like Mr. O'Brien the world would be a better place. Our loss is great! He was loved by alot of people and he will be missed dearly!

Wow I don't know where to begin except to say that I can share that I knew Mr. O'Brien and just know that he has gone to Our Lord and Savior. Although he is no longer here his spirit will remain with those who were lucky enough to know him. Not one of my bad days could really be bad because of a "hello" or his beautiful smile he could change my day! R I P and be our guardian angel. You will greatly be missed but never gone...may your legacy live on! My thoughts and prayers are with your family! I bet your bucket will be waiting!!!

I am so blessed and grateful to have known Jim. He was such a wonderful spirit who lived his beliefs daily...I always learned something from our visits, and felt renewed by his words and many kindnesses.
I will always remember Jim taking my classes the week of my wedding in December 2008. He last subbed for me once this past spring, and his blessing is sealed in heavy clear tape on my chalkboard, so his handwritten words will always be in my room at West Brook.
I know he is now in the very best of all places, and has the answers he searched for. In the days ahead, may God surround you with His comfort and the many cherished memories of this beloved man.

Our thoughts and prayers are with your family during this time. Jim was a wonderful person.

May you rest in peace, Mr. O'Brien. You have been such an inspiration and role model to both me and many other people. You have been such a blessing from God. May we impact many during our lifetime just as you have impacted our lives. You and your family will be in my prayers, and you will be truly and greatly missed.

My daughter, Lauren, is friends with Paul, however, I met Jim at West Brook in the teachers' lounge. He had such a wonderful spirit and made everyone around him feel special.
He always made us laugh. His family meant the world to him.
