My sincerest condolences to all of "Uncle" Harry's family. You have truly been blessed to have shared your lives with one of the finest, caring and enjoyable men I have ever known. I was fortunate to have been his student and in his band from 6th through ninth grades. Many have already shared his many virtues as an outstanding teacher, but one trait that was uniquely his was that he made you feel that you were not only his student, but a beloved member of his family. He is far up on the top ten list of people who influenced my life. He will be greatly missed by all of us who were fortunate enough to have known him and I am thankful I had the opportunity to attend the service today and pay my respects to him. I am sure many of his former students would have wanted to have that opportunity.

May God Bless each of you as you deal with your loss. The Heavenly Orchestra just gained a new clarinetist.

Mr. Charles, you brought me through my jr. high years (even though I did not take band by greeting me by name. I was amazed that you remembered me years later when I saw you at Market Basket. You always had a smile on your face and a story to tell. You are one in a million and I know that you are directing beautiful music in heaven. Till we meet again.

Mr. Charles was a great man and a terrific band teacher. He taught me how to play the clarinet at Port Neches Junior High. He was patient and kind. He also helped my daughter when she attended Groves Middle School. He will be greatly missed. I pray for your families comfort during this time.

Mr. Charles was and will always be my hero. After 40 plus years I can still vividly remember band period at PN Junior High as one of the highlights of my educational experiences. He helped set me on a path of a life filled with music and happiness.
The world is a little bit less with you not in it.
