The Lumberton Police Department would like to offer its most sincere and heartfelt condolonces to our brothers and sisters at Beaumont PD and to the Hebert family. While there are no words that can assuage the grief you all feel, hopefully it is of some comfort to know that in this time we all, no matter the color of the badge or patch, stand in solidarity with you. Every police officer dons the uniform knowing that one day he or she too might have to "lay down his life for a friend" should it be required, but we can also take comfort in the words of Matthew 5:9, which say "blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God."
Officer Hebert was a son of God, a peacemaker who gave his life in service to his community, his fellow man, and his brothers and sisters in uniform, thereby displaying that "greater love". God bless you and your family.

I am sorry for your loss of Bryan. He was a good man and a true friend. Regardless of how long me and Bryan went without seeing each other at work, I always felt a special bond between me and him after what we went though in 2001. He will truly be missed and the citizens of Beaumont have lost a great officer.
