A great guy, and a pleasure to work with.

I am Ron's only daughter in law. I've always felt privilaged in this role! I became part of this family the day David & I announced our engagement! They have always made me feel welcome and loved! Ron was a character and those of us who know him know what I mean! At one point he had gained a little weight and I was pregnant with our first son Michael and first Boldt grandchild. Ron had made a joke about his baby being bigger than mine :) this is the wonderful kind of humor he had. David has inherited this unique quality from his dad!
As you can see from the pics on Facebook he loved the grandkids. They brought him so much joy. It may look like Ron is being dragged around to help them walk, fly or just play but it was usually Pa that initiated the activity! He loved his yard, garden, fishing and BBQ! Bird houses were his passion! And animals...he pretended he didn't like the dogs & cats that came through his house throughout the years, but secretly he adored them! Pa we will miss you, but shortly we will see you in Heaven where there is no pain and no tears! I told Jesus I wanted to be greeted by Ron and my wonderful grandparents when I get to the gates! I was outside walking and praying when God played a wonderful song called, "Finally Home", by Mercy Me on my IPhone. The first line is " I'm gonna wrap my arms around my daddy's neck tell him that I missed him! Tell him all about the man that I became and hope that it pleased him. So much I wanna say, so much I wanted you to know...when I finally make it home!". And a rainbow in my path just after I made this request! God loves us in spite of ourselves...and He speaks when his children listen to Him!
See you soon Pa, your daughter in law Rhonda

Without question one of the finest gentleman I have worked with in the maritime industry. During the toughest of circumstances his wit and humor would carry the day. His honesty and integrity describe his epitaph. My sincere condolences to Diane and the family. I will miss Ron but I will always remember him with a smile.

I had the pleasure of working with Ron for the last 8yrs. He always had a smile and I actually think he looked forward to getting up and going to work each day. Even though he has been gone from the office since January, I always looked forward to his visits. As I walked into the office this morning and went to his former office, I could not help but shed tears. His visits will be missed. My prayers are with you.

I consider myself very fortunate to have my career path cross Ron’s, when we were both employed by Bethlehem Steel Corporation- Marine Division in Beaumont, Texas. Ron was a unique person whose knowledge in the maritime industry was second to none. A man of great character and charisma. May he now rest in peace. My prayers go out to Diane and the family. Randy

The world is a lesser place with the passing of Ron. It was an honor for me being called a fellow Marine Surveyor. My sincere condolences to Ron's family.

My condolences to Diane and her family. I had the pleasure of working on many projects with Ron, during our time at Bethlehem Steel Shipbuilding, in Beaumont. He was a fine worker, friend, a great supervisor who had the respect of all he came in contact with.
