Every soccer field you stepped on, you changed for the better. I was fortunate to learn such a great game from such a great teacher! Everything you taught me will always have a special place in my head and heart. You will be greatly missed!

At the celebration of one of the PSV championships Jan handed my mother a rose. She is nearly 85 now but still remembers it fondly. Condolences to the family and in spirit we send a rose to Beaumont.

The smile that makes you laugh, the hug that holds you tight, the knack for making everything seem alright.
Jan you have given so much to everyone you know.
Seems like you always saved the best for the rest of us. Forever with kindness in your eyes, our hearts are heavy, the load is much .. the memory of your friendship is worth the weight.
Thank you from all of us. We send our love, thoughts and prayers to the VanBeveren Family.

The fans gathered, they waited. They knew the "flying Dutchman" would appear.
Some of the best and a lasting friendships would survive old age, injury and retirement.
Tonight, I will reflect on one of finest men I have ever known and had the pleasure to call my friend and teammate. Jan was simply one of the best ambassadors of the game and life.
He will be missed by everyone, of this I am certain. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire VanBeveren family.

last year there was a beautiful documentary about jan van Beveren on dutch tv and what hit me the most was that jan (after living in the US for over thirty years and feeling a 100% american,as he stated)would not exchange his Dutch citizenship for american citizenship,he just couldn't . mr van Beveren may you rest in peace and may god give strenght to your family and the people who loved and appreciated you! let me end with a dutch proverb "you can take a Dutchman out of Holland but you can't take Holland out of a Dutchman"

Jan was my trainer for a number of years, and I enjoyed every second with him on and off the field. He always had great words of wisdom to tell us and I'll bring them around with me all my life. He always knew how to make me smile whether it was his jokes, stories or his contagious smile. He's a great man and my role model. He will be in my heart forever. I love you Jan and miss you terribly. Save a spot for me in Heaven.

There are some people that leave lasting impressions on your life...Jan was one of those people. Our entire family is very lucky to have been able to get to know Jan and have him train our boys. Our one regret....we didn't have more time with Jan. God Bless the family and prayers to you all.
