I so miss and Love you Aunt Doris that some days I don't know how I can function without your kind/tough words! You are and were the best women/grandma/Aunt ANYONE could ever have. Some days, which is often, I get down about you and dad, but I remember that Shores in me and I do my best to get up and go. I will admit, it's hard not having those sweet words told/whispered to me, but I think of them often. I miss you and dad more than anything and I'm so sad you are not with us but at the same time, you are with us. Your children, grandbabies and nieces. We all know you and dad are sitting back watching all of us and making demands of the right things to do in life but we, I miss your voice. The comfort of you and dad talking to me on the phone. By the way, we talked about your homemade grits, how NOBODY can make them like yours and dad's. I miss and love you and dad more than words or anything can express. I pray you are both with all your childen and many more

Very sorry to hear of your loss Dustin and family. My sister Cindy spoke very highly of Mrs. Storey, and the rest of the family.
Poem I found and thought was nice...
God saw you getting tired. When a cure was not to be, He closed his arms around you and whispered, "Come to Me". In tears we saw you sinking. We watched you fade away. Our hearts were almost broken, you fought so hard to stay. But when we saw you sleeping so peacefully free from pain, We could not wish you back to suffer so again. So keep your arms around him Lord, and give him special care. Make up for all he suffered and all that seemed unfair.

My heart is sad for the loss of Mrs. Storey. She was an amazing family friend. I have many memories of her. I have never met anyone that could make fried chicken like her, she was my babysitter, she raised my bird (Pete) and more importantly an amazing person. God Bless.
