My deepest sympathy. I have such fond memories of Mrs. Chambless. She was a wonderful teacher and I cherish the times I had the pleasure of visiting with her during chance visits to Walmart! God be with you.

I had Mrs. Chambless for English my senior year, (1972). She was always one of my favorite teaches. She had such a kind & gentle spirit, and a beautiful smile! I know she touched so many lives in her 87 years here on earth. May she rest in peace in eternity with her Lord!

To the entire Chambless family...We are so saddened by the passing of such an incredible woman. She brightened our day with that beautiful smile every time we saw her! We enjoyed her company at many sporting events over the years! She was always there for her family...and her friends! Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of you as you celebrate her wonderful life. Another angel received her wings and is now in heaven celebrating everylasting life! We love you, Mrs. Chambless! Dear Jaime, Jan and other family members, I am so sorry about your loss. Hazel and I ended our teaching careers at PNG at the same time, thus freeing up time for family history research, something both of us enjoyed tremendously. Besides spending untold hours in libraries, we also made a "fact finding" trip to the courthouse in Greenville, Texas, where the clerk had to use a ladder to retrieve a dusty old leger from a top shelf in a storage room. You would have thought a gold prospector had just found a nugget when we discovered in that book a yellowed page containing the name of her grandfather. It was his Declaration of Intent to become a citizen of this country. What an exciting find for her, and I was pleased to share it. I shall miss my sweet "genealogy buddy." Sincerely, Frances Thomas

A teacher and person , you will never forget. Though I inturrupted her class with a fight my senior year, she never held that against me. Twenty years after graduation I ran into her at a store. She could not recall my name, so I quoted her some old English poetry, she smiled and said Ronnie Foreman. How did you remember that? Told her she said I was not going to pass if i did not. Through my years in the Marine Corps and Foreign Service, I have used that poem to put down the east coast intellectuals. Only Oliee North quoted the whole thing back. But he went to school in Texas also To the family, I know your loss is great. But, if teachers have a special place in Heaven, then she will be at the head of the class. My deepest sympathy for all the families members in your loss. Mrs C we loved you Ronnie Foreman Nederland 1955

I'm sorry for your lost of Mrs. Chambless. I enjoyed being in her class, she was always very kind to me. She was very friendly and fair to all the kids in her class. She was an excellent teacher, don't know of anyone that didn't like her. I graduated m Nederland High in '59.
I received an e-mail about her passing away from a gentleman that I grew up with who now lives in Houston,Texas. He keeps me up-dated on things happening in the area. So I just had to send an e-mail and say I will be praying for the family. " Just Keep Your Eyes On Jesus". I belong to Country Oaks Baptist Church in Elk Grove, I will ask the members to have prayer for the family.

Mrs. Chambless was a memorable educator. At PNG I tend to remember her as smiling most of the time. My sincere condolences to family and friends.
