Dear Bobby:

You and I go way back to the old YMCA days at 934 Calder Ave. in Beaumont. John Lewis was there and we had great times. We often spoke of Dickie Howell...he was one of the boys too!

We shared some good memories as we grew up and took our place in the world.

It was wonderful talking to you recently, about 4 or 5 months ago. You explained that you were not feeling too well but was of good cheer!

We spoke of the Lord and how much we will enjoy going to a place where there is no more hatred, pain, and suffering...and wars! Especially, these useless Wars that only make the makers of them profit off our son's and daughter's blood!

God bless you! What a wonderful person you have always been; John was the same too. Just think...you now get to see your parents again, and John too...and all of our people who were in Dick Dowling with us! Who have now gone on before us.

Wow! I remember you told me in several conversations by phone in the past few years how 'wonderful' Heaven is going to be and we get to have the 'Communion of Saints!

Especially with all our old class mates from Dick Dowling and the Old Beaumont High School!

As you said recently, "People aren't like they used to be Charley.' And Bobby, you sure are right.

Do you remember you told me to 'Never stop looking over your shoulder.'

Laura was a very good friend of mine growing up in high school. I also enjoyed street rods and immediately struck up a friendship with her father Mr. Lewis. I always enjoyed talking and joking around with him. The entire Lewis family is a great family and this is a testimate to Mr. Lewis.

I want to extend my sincere condolences to Mrs. Lewis, Laura, and Shelley. May God be with you in this tough time and your family will be in our prayers.

Note: I know what you are going through for I lost my father this year too.

Take care and God Bless your family,

Ken & Cherylle Reed, Jeri, Alex, Kallie, and Brooks

Dear Family and Friends:

I just wanted to take a moment to offer my sincere condolences on the passing of my dear friend, Bob Lewis.

Below are my views of Bob :

1) The Bob Lewis I knew had great courage. He was never afraid to speak out against the status quo and conventional wisdom……..

2) The Bob Lewis I knew had amazing wisdom. He always knew his subject matter - - and could always defend it…..

3) The Bob Lewis I knew had conviction. He always felt strong about his ideas, no matter what anyone else thought.

4) The Bob Lewis I knew had clarity. His message was typically simple, concise and easily understood…..

5) And the Bob Lewis I knew had credibility. He dang sure knew how to walk the walk and talk the talk.

No one had more compromising integrity than Bob . He always thought with discipline and honesty. He could sort through flattery, through politics and could always see things as they truly were.

He was a most remarkable man. I always viewed Bob as incredibly competent, very caring and amazingly confident.

You have to remember. I have known Bob for the past 60+ years.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Family.

Regards,

David
