Micki, Tyler and Sam, I am so sorry to hear of Lillie's passing. I remember when the Safer family would go Christmas Caroling and we would stop by Lillie's house and sing. She would ask me to sing "What Child Is This"; one of her favorites I would think.
She was always so good and kind to Tyler and Sam and loved them very much.
Sincerly, Charlotte

Monte, Roger & Mickey,
I'm so sorry to hear about Lillie Mae. I would have gone to the services if I had found out in time. You mom is one that I will never forget. Our childhoold days with her were crazy and hilarious thanks to your mom and her vitality and love for life and laughter. Mostly, I will remember all the good times we had at the beach. I remember her clowns she had in the house which were a perfect expression of how she lived life, loving to laugh and make others laugh. She was always fun and kept us all feeling so alive. All of you were like family to us. I know she will be missed greatly. God bless her soul and all of you too. Love, Dana McDill Edwards

I was so sorry to read in today's paper that funeral services were being held for Lillie. It had been years since I had seen or talked to her but when my late husband and I had David's Upstairs (the restaurant on eleventh) she was one of our very favorite people. My thoughts and prayers are with all her family. She was a joy to be around and I know you all will miss her terribly.

Hey O'Fiels! I am so sorry about Lillie-your sweet mama. I know it is so hard to go through this time but you have some wonderful memories to hold on to. Those will get you through the rough times and they will make you smile, laugh and even cry. She was a special person who loved her family so much. Like one person put it-She was a "SPICY" one and she will be missed. Love Jan

I am so sorry to hear of your mother's passing. I have so many crazy, wonderful childhood memories of Lillie Mae and your family. I will always remember her full of life, amazing body, beautiful legs and incredible seafood gumbo. I remember very fondly sitting at the beach house kitchen bar watching her make magic with shrimp, crabs and roux. I have an old recipe in my recipe box called Lillie Mae Spicey Shrimp passed down to me from Lillie to my mom then to me. I always think of Lillie Mae whenever I thumb past that recipe. I think spicey is a great way to remember her. She was a one of a kind "spicey" lady.
I love you guys always and miss you Mickie. Melody

Dear Family, Our deepest love and condolences are with all of you at this time at the passing of Aunt Lillie! We loved your mom dearly and will always hold close to heart the memories we shared with our dear sweet 'Mamie' ! I will always recall how I looked forward as a child and early on into my adulthood of traveling often to the beach house in Galveston TX where your mom would always welcome us with open arms and give us a time of our lives! Or the many trips to your home in Beaumont where we would sit with 'Mamie' as she shared the 'good olde days' of growing up in the country with her sisters and brother Shelton! I will always remember her telling me: 'Sherry, I chuckle to think about some of the many things we did when we were young! Poor Mama and Papa; I can't imagine how they survived some of the things we put them through over the years!' Oh! and the talent your mom had in decorating and creating beautiful works of art! I would go with my camera through her home taking pictures, returning to my home with the intentions of re-decorating my house! ;-) Yes, I will always treasure the love and memories the past holds deep in my heart of my dear sweet 'Mamie', ! May the Good Lord and Mother Mary fill you with their peace as you face each and every new day. All our love! Your Cousins Sherry and Mike!
