Dearest Aunt Nelda and Kin , I know I and my family are far from view , but it doesn't mean I don't think of you . Uncle Bill 's still here in stories told , And memories that never grow old . Though time passes all us its true, Uncle Bills' still watching over you . So tell his stories to the young , So they will remember he was such fun . Be sure all family throughout this land , To all be known he was a great man . From the mountains to the ocean blue , His friendship was Oh so True . A greater man never knocked on our door , Than My Uncle ,Bill Orr . Love You All David Pennington & Family

Nelda, I worked with you back in the 50's at Godchaux's pharmacy on the corner of Magnolia and Calder in Beaumont. I have never forgotten what a good friend you were. I am so sorry for your loss and extend my sincere sympathy to you and your family.

Nelda and family, You are in my thoughts and prayers at this difficult time. I was honored to work with Bill for many years at Market Basket. Bill was steady as a rock and grounded in his love of family and God and loyalty to Market Basket. He was a man of great intelligence and a master in business mathematics. He expected the best of himself and others always. He was my mentor and friend. Underneath the gruff exterior was a heart so big that he had room to be a grandpa to my child as she grew up. We will miss him.

Dear Family and Friends:
I just wanted to take a moment to offer my sincere condolences on the passing of our dear friend, Bill Orr.
Below are my views of Bill :
1) The Bill Orr I knew had great courage. He was never afraid to speak out against the status quo and conventional wisdom……..
2) The Bill Orr I knew had amazing wisdom. He always knew his subject matter - - and could always defend it…..
3) The Bill Orr I knew had conviction. He always felt strong about his ideas, no matter what anyone else thought.
4) The Bill Orr I knew had clarity. His message was typically simple, concise and easily understood…..
5) And the Bill Orr I knew had credibility. He dang sure knew how to walk the walk and talk the talk.
No one had more compromising integrity than Bill . He always thought with discipline and honesty. He could sort through flattery, through politics and could always see things as they truly were.
He was a most remarkable man. I always viewed Bill as incredibly competent, very caring and amazingly confident.
My thoughts and prayers are with the Family.
