We, the Buna Veterans' Memorial Trustee Board, are saddened by the passing of our dedicated member. Melvin could always be depended on to help the memorial in any way he was needed. He was our voice of reason and always seemed to come up with solutions to major problems. Melvin was a true patriot in every sense of the word. He was proud to be a marine and was truly a hero to us all. We love you, Melvin and you will be deeply missed by us all!! Rachel Hill, Treasurer Buna, Texas, Buna Veterans' Memorial

Sorry for the loss of your father. He was mine and my twin brother first coach in football. He not only coached excellent football but stressed being a good person and student as well. I know the loss of your father hurts but having him with you for many years more than others get was really a blessing. God has him with him now and I know that pleases his family. God bless you all

What a beautiful Memorial Video. What a handsome man and beautiful family. Our lives have been blessed by having our parents with us long enough to share in the joys of our children and even their children. Yet we feel that our last good bye came too soon. They will be forever missed but never forgotten. We love them and they are with us every day just by looking in the mirror. Love to all of you from your cousin

Mrs. Serres was my 2nd grade teacher at Taft Elementary and Coach Serres was my 7th grade football, basketball, and track and field coach at Groves Jr. High a/k/a Woodlawn Jr. High. Looking back, I am thankful to Mrs. Serres and Coach Serres for the good education I received as a part of the PN-GISD. Both were good people. I'm sorry for their loss. RIP and may the Lord bless you both. Thoughts and prayers to the family.
