I'm so sorry to learn of Brett's passing. I knew him briefly in Memphis. He was so much fun - kind and generous. I know you must miss him terribly. May God give you peace and comfort during this difficult time.

It is with great sadness to learn of Bret's untimely passing. I knew Bret for a short 10 years at Northwest Airlines/Delta. We would sit around or go places between trips and had some great laughs together. Bret was so much fun to be around always happy and charming, I even introduced him to my friends and we would take vacations together. He enriched us with his great sence of humor and laughter. Bret was kind to everyone and would always offer to help in any way he knew. We will greatly miss him. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends. Love, Julian

I learned today that Brett passed away! It came as a total shock to me! Brett was the first person I met at NW and my oldest connection. I was in initial training with Brett and he was senior to me by “one” number. In fact, I met Brett on the bus-ride from the airport in MSP during our initial interview! Of course, we were both hired and excited for each’s good fortune--I remember him wishing me luck and then standing outside the door after the interview and congratulating me with a slap-on-the-back! We then went to take our drug-test which took the latter part of the day and we got to know each other! I wasn’t sure of him at first because he was very good looking with a truly dazzling smile! I, being from LA--am wary of good-looking, well-mannered people who possess an easy charm! However, Brett was like that popular boy in high school who was kind and good to all--he always had something good to say about everyone! It seems we always say this about people when we lose them--but, with Brett it was actually true! He was a character too--and, I sometimes secretly envied him for it--he was so damned likable! Through the years, I have worked and spent more time with Brett than any other person at this airline! We’d often be at odds politically and have some good-natured debates! We were opposites from different cultures--but, it never really seemed to matter and we always left our bantering behind, and never had any ill-will toward each other! Too, his intellect and insight was a challenge to me--so whenever I noticed we had a trip together, or IQ, CQ, AQ--I would think devilishly to myself, “What can I do to annoy him?"--and it wasn’t easy because he saw the positive in everything life is and was--I never succeeded! I knew he was ill--but, he was private about his health and always said there wasn’t anything to be concerned about! Earlier in the month, after schedules were published, I noticed he wasn’t on the schedule for January, so I checked to see if he had transferred to another base--I knew he didn’t quit as he loved this job--he truly did and Brett was flight-attendant-extraordinaire--the best! Someone today casually mentioned that he had passed--they didn't realize I knew Brett as I did--and I just can’t believe it! From the day we first sat together on the shuttle to the interview--and through the years--Brett has been a large-part of my NW experience.....such a loss.....and, I will miss him!:-(

I am so shocked. I had known Bret for almost 20 years. I had not seen him since last summer but we had a great time. I agree with everyone else. he was a charmer, everyone loved him from the get-go. Always up for something, always wanting to help somebody. What happened?

Nothing in the world could have prepared me for the shock of Bret's untimely death. I only learned of this two nights ago, and have cried a river of tears. Bret and I traveled the world together, and many of my best, most fond memories are of our times together. He was the single most giving person I've ever met.. He loved and gave - he never took. My dear, loved friend, I'll see you again someday; we'll pour some red wine and spend eternity enjoying each other's company again. I love you.

I just found about Bret's passing this week. Bret and I worked together at Primacre. Bret made you his friend once he met you. He was ultimate planner to make things happen. The things I remember and loved about Bret was his character, his voice, his laughter and that wonderful smile. I wish I could have seen him just to receive one of his good hearty hugs. My prayers are with Bret's family and friends who loved him dearly.

Bret was a dear friend for over twenty years. The first day we met at PrimaCare he looked at me as we laughed at something silly and said "I can tell we are going to have a lot of fun". Well that was all so true. We did just that. We started at the original "Northwest" PrimaCare and traveled to all the others over the years in so many different roles. I don't believe anyone would disagree that Bet was the heart and soul of the PrimaCare we remember. He was funny, considerate, loving and a big blast of pure people energy. I loved him dearly and will miss him always. It was a gift to have been his friend. All my love to his family. Thank you for sharing him with so many.

I too worked with Bret at Primacare, I remember when i first met him i thought he was so handsome. I have known Bret for 16 years and was shocked to hear of his passing, and still cant believe he is gone. Bret always came by the clinic to see me and the last time i saw him was June 2010 and he lifted me up and swung me around until we were both dizzy. I love you Bret and will always remember that great smile and your wonderful, generous personality....save the next twirl for me
