Grady was a good friend and next door neighbor. I worked for him at one time in his TV shop and with him @ the X ray company. We shared a lot of common interest and enjoyed many over the fence conversations about a lot of things.
A very good guy and will missed very much.

Big Daddy was one of the most honorable men that I ever met. He unconditionally loved my son when no one else cared to. Now that Joshua has grown to be a man, husband, and father, I can honestly say that Grady Shafer showed him how to succeed, how to be a true friend, how to be a husband, how to be a daddy. As a single mom, I will ever be greatful of Big Daddys influence on my sons life. What a legacy he has left.

My prayers and thoughts are with the family of Grady. He was one of the sweetest persons I have ever met. He was such a family man, always talking about the kids and wife. Back in the day, Baptist Hospital, Women and Children hospital, and even when I moved to Jasper, Grady always kept in touch. I know you all must have so many stories and great times with Grady. He did fish with Jimmy and I on lake Sam Rayburn, such fun times. Such wonderful memories.

I am so sorry to learn of Mr Shaffer's passing. We will miss seeing him at Dr Halbert's office. He always had a kind word and a smile for me. He had such a sweet spirit. I know he will be greatly missed by his entire family. Be comforted in the knowledge that beyond this life as we know it, there is a place where we will all meet again. A place where we never have to say goodbye.
