There is a beautiful angel in heaven tonight. A bright star shining. I'm so sorry for all the pain and sorrow you all are going through. She's at peace and in no more pain. Joan, you're a class act and the world with be all the poorer for your absence. I hadn't seen much of you recently but you always made me laugh... I still think it's insane you made my aunt sit in the back seat of your car so you could put your infant child's car seat up front with you... but no matter how much she complained, in your car, your baby was up front with you... So many of us could take a page from that book. I don't think much about the afterlife and I'm not sure there is a God. But if there is, would you do me a favor and ask him what he was thinking when he made the platypus? Love you.

Words can not express how sorry our family is for your loss. Joni was such a wonderful lady. I am so glad I got the opportunity to work with Joni and talk and laugh with her. Such a super mom, friend, sister, co-worker and all around great person with a HUGE heart. She was so easy to talk to and a joy to be around. We will truly miss her - but will be comforted knowing that God has a new angel at his side.

I worked with Joni for a short time at Edwards & Fontenote and feel honored to have known her. My prayers are with you all during this time of grief.

Joni was the best friend I have ever had - loyal, funny, smart, and always a joy - and, as the song by Jewel says, "There's a space in my heart that is the shape of you." I lost a little part of what made my life "my life".
