My daughter Bailey was in Kindergarten with Katie and thought the world of her. I can remember that smile she had like it was yesterday. Katie always had a funny story or an awesome sparkle in her eye that could make anyone smile. I am so sorry for your loss Sandy and Grant. I will be praying for you and your families to find comfort in the days and weeks to come. The girls will be missed! Angelique and Bailey Smith

My sweet Katie~I'll always remember your precious smile and beautiful eyes that lit up when you told me stories about you and Cristin! I will treasure forever the pictures you drew for me and the sweet notes you left on my desk in Kindergarten. To Sandy and Grant, please know how very sorry I am. I'll never forget your baby girl....

I can not even begin to express my sadness for all of you. I taught Katie in 1st grade, she was in my very first class! She was an amazing little girl, who always made me smile. She had a smile that would light up a room! I am so thankful that I had to opportunity to be her teacher. She was truly an angel....may she rest in the arms of Jesus. I pray that God wraps his loving arms around all of you and comforts you during these difficult days. Sincerely, Darlene Van Dorn

I am very sorry for your loss. I do not know your family and I will not pretend to know ALL of your pain. What I do know is that this journey to healing will be twice as long and hard for you. My heart breaks just trying to feel 1/2 of your hurt. I lost my 17 year old son in November 2008. I can tell you, there will be darkness and sorrow for the rest of our lives, but we will also find small moments of joy.
I pray that God will wrap you in his loving, comforting arms and help you on this journey. we never ask for the title of grieving parent, nor do we want to wear these horrible concrete shoes, but someday, I hope we find a way to make them a little more comfortable until we can be with our children again. I will pray for your family daily. The saddest part is how much my list has grown since my own loss.
There will be many questions, but I hope this will answer one of them "the age that is honorable comes not with the passing of time, nor can it be measured in terms of years....they pleased God....Having become perfect in a short while, they reached the fullness of a long career" Wisdom 4:7-14
I subscribe to a daily minute meditation and a daily bible verse, I got these on the same day last week, Nov 2(I was dragging my feet to acknowledge this month had begun, because I don't want to remember what happened on the 24th nearly 2 years ago)...I hope you find some comfort in them, if not right now, later on down the road : Endless Love: "Know for certain that death does not end my relationships with all those I love. We will go on loving each other beyond time and telling." Wisdom 3:1-3 "The souls of the just are in the hand of God, and no torment shall touch them. They seemed, in the view of the foolish, to be dead; and their passing away was thought an affliction and their going forth from us, utter destruction. But they are in peace."
Again I am so sorry you lost your little girls. God Bless you... Eternal rest, grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May the souls of the faithful departed rest in peace. Amen.

My son Dillon and Katie were in 1st grade together. She was such a light in this world. She was the sweetest girl. When her and Dillon went to second grade I picked her and her sister up and took them to Cheryl after school. I loved listening to them laugh. They were the most precious girls. My daughter Ashley thought Katie was the best. She looked up to her. What a wonderful role model she was. My prayers are with you all and will be forever.
