To the Barker family-our condolences to all of you for the great loss you are now suffering. Many years ago Howard wrote a letter to our son telling him about the great man whom he was named after, Asa Zenas Low. Although we have never met Howard, this gesture meant so much to our family. He told of stories that we never knew, and we will treasure that letter from him forever.

Jason & Barker Family, Your dad's life is an example for all of us to take notice. What it says to me is that we need to get busy living life like Howard Barker. He was a war veteran, a coach, a principal, a business man, a golfer, a traveler, a strict and respected father and grandfather. Amazing.
Seeing the video and reading how Mr. Barker's grabbed every opportunity and enjoyed his life, well, I now fully understand why you were always so proud of your dad. Thank you for sharing this publicly for those of us who are so far away. Big Texas Hug from Holland.

My mom, Lucille Davis, has spoken many times of her fondness for her cousin Howard and really enjoyed the few times he and my Uncle Allen were able to visit her in years past. We offer our sincere condolences for your loss. Our prayers are that you will not sorrow for long and that fond memories will delight you and comfort you now and always. May God bless you and grant you peace.

Dearest Margaret, Jana, Matthew, James, Jason, and all the Barker family...Wayne and I and the whole Pinewood community are going to miss Howard. Howard was always a generous teacher and coach to all and was a tremendous contribution to our community. Wendy and Holly will always remember the ABC fashion shows along with so many other wonderful Barker, HJ and Pinewood Golf activities. Of all the memories Margaret, my favorite will always be of you and Howard's great love of life and each other. Love Jeanie Turk
