To the Pitts family,
Please accept my deepest sympathies. You father was a gem to us here at Philmont. I will miss his warm smile and gentle nature. He left a footprint in all our hearts that will last forever. RIP Wayne, we Love you and will miss you so very much.

Wayne will be missed at Wood Badge meetings and at Philmont. Best wishes to the family. DK

I'm sorry to hear of Wayne's passing. He was a special person to me and the other girls here at the Camping Registration Office at Philmont. He will be missed.

There's never an easy way to mourn the loss of a loved one. One consolation is knowing what a strong christian man he was and knowing that he's in a much better place. Kim, God is going to bless you in huge ways for everything that you've done to take care of him. I am praying for peace & comfort for everyone. Please let me know if there's anything that I can do!!

I always enjoyed working at Philmont and visiting with Wayne to catch up with things that were going on with all the folks in the backcountry. He will be missed greatly by one and all.

This fine example of a gentleman and leader will be sorely missed by not only those that knew him, but also those that benefitted from Wayne's kindness, generosity, and enduring love for the scouting program. Well done our good and faithful servant. Memory eternal.

A friend and fellow scouter, Wayne has been on my mind often lately. Now I know why. He will be missed.

Wayne was a friend to us oh so many years. we shared in his grief on the passing of his wife, but was glad he found an outlet in working at Philmont. we visited him there almost every summer. Happy Trails old friend

May your Dad, Husband, Granddad, etc. have God's perfect peace and all the angels are singing praises. He was a blessing and inspiration to our family growing up in Nederland and the Boy Scouts. I pray God will be with you and your family during this difficult time and hereonafter.

Wayne was a leader of both boys and men and always an example of selfless service to Scouting. Like so many others, I was fortunate to have shared the trails of Philmont Scout Ranch with Wayne and learned that you really can have fun eating freeze dried food while hiking with a small person strapped to your back at 12,000 feet. I have been taught valuable lessons in leadership by Wayne and have been inspired by his strength and courage. He gave life to the 12 points of the Scout Law and we are better leaders for having known him.
