Mrs. Willis, Donna and Matt and families:
My heartfelt sympathies go out to all of you. Mr. Willis leaves a legacy of living all of the great "C"s that people spend a lifetime to accomplish. He performed it daily with everyone with Care, Concern, Compassion and Commitment.
It is a great honor to be able to mold young people and influence them toward a positive outcome and he respected that privilege and used it carefully to reach his goal.
A great man and a life well lived! Well done Mr. Willis! I wish I could be with you today but know you are all in my thoughts and prayers. Sincerely Terry Faye

Matt, I was very sad to hear about your Dad. He will be missed a lot not only by you and your family but also the many friends he made throughout his life. I very much enjoyed our many conversations at the coffee shop. He did like his coffee breaks and his scratch-off's. He was a strong force to many people just starting out in their adult lives. He will be remembered as a great man. God bless you and all your family. Sincerely, Jeff

A man that knew no color, all students were treated equally, regardless of race or the color of their skin. Even after graduation, this was a man that remembered you as if you were still one of his students in school. I will miss standing behind him at Speedy Stop getting those lotto tickets and sharing a good conversation. Truly a wonderful man i still respected. I am sure he will be greatly missed by everyone, family, friends and neighbors alike. RIP

My thoughts and prayers go to the family of Mr. Willis at this time. He had a good heart, and as a principal at East Chambers in the 1970's, you knew not to cross the line with him, but yet knew he had a heart of gold, and he only wanted the best for the students. He had a twinkle in his eyes when he smiled, and that's how I remmeber Mr. Willis Patti Patton Royal

Dear Willis Family, I was so saddened to hear about Mr. Willis' passing. He was a great man who helped shape so many young lives, mine being one of them! I will never forget the twinkle in his eyes when he was trying not to laugh at some of the ridiculous things that we did during our high school years! He was the perfect high school principal! He will be missed by many but never forgotten!
Fondly, Becky

I am very sorry about your loss. Mr.Willis was my high school principal at East Chambers, durying the mid 60"s. Even though I gave him a lot of trouble, I always respected Mr.Willis. I had the opportunity a few months to call Mr.Willis and tell him I was sorry for my actions. Mr.Willis did remember me and forgave me.Mr.Willis will be greatly missed and always remembered. God bless your family.

We all who morn your loss are the fruit of a life well lived. The truths you imparted to each of us lives on in our lives and we have passed them on to our children so your life has touched people you have never even met. Mr Willis is truly a good man who has left an inheritance to his children's children.

Hey Matt,
I am so sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. As you well know he had a major effect on my life - he knew we wold all basically turn out just fine so long as he could keep us between the ditches during high school. He was a big influence in my life turning out fine! I know he took great pride in positively affecting our lives!
God bless you and your family
John

I was only at ECC for my senior year, but having moved around the country a great deal and having been an educator myself for 32 years, I can say with some authority that Mr. Willis was an unusually effective principal. His fairness, caring, and quiet sense of humor are a few of the traits his students remember fondly. I hope you can draw comfort from knowing that his positive impact on students is a lasting legacy.
