Mr. Nelson was absolutely one of the best men I ever knew. I will always remember him for his dry wit and kind, quiet way. Mr. Nelson and the Nelson family were such an important part of my childhood and I will be forever grateful for those times we shared. His loss makes the world a little sadder but I know he is in a better place. Mrs. Nelson, Mark, Steven and Jill and all the grandkids, you have my deepest sympathies.

I am saddened to hear of the passing of Gerald Nelson. I have many fun memories after working with him for 15 years at Port Arthur. Gerald was a very sincere, kind and honest person. He was very good and thorough at what he did. I will miss him. He is a fine man and I respected him. Evelyn, Mark, Steven and Jill please accept our sincere condolences.

My prayers are with the family during this difficult time. Althought I didnt personally know him, I will forever remember him and his voice at the heritage festival selling the sausage bread...

I was so sorry to hear the news of Gerald's passing. I worked quite extensively with Gerald at Texaco Port Arthur Research Labs (we have some patents together). Gerald was an inspiration to me as well as to the other young engineers and scientists of the day. I remember also quite well that although Gerald could be serious, he always had a ready smile.

Our blessings to you, Jill, and the rest of your family. Although I didn't know your father, the closeness you shared with him speaks volumes of the legacy he leaves behind. I am grateful for the time you had to share with him recently before his passing and I know that in the years to come, these will become some of your most cherished memories. I pray that your hearts overcome with peace in the days ahead. Love, the Ditta family
