To the Thomas Family:
I remember Aunt Norma visiting us in Cleveland, calling Julie and me "sugar" and sitting under Clara's giant hair dryer...after rolling grape leaves with Frieda. I am sorry for your loss, and grateful for those childhood memories of a truly wonderful woman we were fortunate enough to know, if only briefly. You are in my thoughts today.

Sharon, Johnny, Ricky, Karla, & Craig:
I am so very sorry for you loss -- for all of our loss. Aunt Norma opened her home to me. I grew up in Aunt Norma & Uncle C.B.'s house. You all are my brothers and sisters. Aunt Norma took Aleesha and me in to live, when we had no place to go. I will never forget that. You all have been very blessed to have had such a special mother - one who never judged, but comforted. I could talk to her when I could not talk to anyone else about things. She is in a special place now and we are all very thankful that she was a part of our lives. Just know that I am here for all of you. I love you.

I want to express some of the thoughts that come to mind when I think of this wonderful & loving person. I was 5 years old when Aunt Norma met & married my Uncle Neseb (CB) Thomas. At least once a week Aunt Norma would ask me if I had been a good boy. If I answered "yes" she would walk me down to the local Sommers Drug Store, the only one in town that had a real soda fountain area with ice cream & milk shakes; sit me on the bar stool like the adults & let me order a vanilla malt. She would talk to me at the fountain & all the way back home. I still love vanilla to this day. As time went by, although Aunt Norma & Uncle CB had their own children, she still found the time to make me feel special. Each year on my birthday she would make me, from scratch, a pizza pie with candles for however many years old I was. This pizza was just for me. When I got in trouble with one of the neighbors & got a whipping from my parents for doing wrong, Aunt Norma would always talk me through the problems and our discussion always ended with a hug. She was & is a very special person who will be missed but never forgotten. She raised 5 wonderful children (Johnny, Sharon, Ricky, Karla, & Craig) who are hurting right now. Please pray for them & their families at this time. I encourage my cousins to remember all those good times with their very special mom.
Dennis
