I was privileged to be part of the Diocese of Beaumont's TV ministry for a brief period in the 1980s (The Catholic Church in Focus, KFDM-TV, Channel 6, Sunday mornings) along with Msgr. DeStefano and others. Richard's creativity and spirituality and, yes, his sense of humor were evident in his pastoral ministry. Rest well in Christ.

Uncle Richard we will miss you dearly.
We have some fond memories of you when you visited Connecticut. A wonderful priest who's sermons were always easy to understand and enjoyable.
Fun to be with and a special part of our family. Rest in peace.

Uncle Richard will always have a very special place in my heart. My pride in being his niece and his goddaughter always made me feel so blessed. I have many memories that my mother shared with me of her growing up with four brothers and although she always spoke with tremendous love of each of them, Uncle Richard held a special place as the 'baby' of the family. My fondest memory as a little girl was being blessed to receive my first Communion on the day he was ordained. As a child, I can remember feeling as if God had blessed with this amazing gift. Dearest Uncle Richard.....you live on in my heart and through all the lives you touched.

Monsignor DeStefano was one of the kindest people I have ever known. He was an excellent priest and very gifted in his ability to connect with the congregation in a down to earth way during his homilies. He was such a sweet person, it was a pleasure just to be in his presence. He reminded me of my Grandfather whom I loved more than any other man on the face of this earth. Monsignor will be sorely missed. May he rest in God,s eternal light.
