Dear Mom, It seems like you and Dad have been gone forever. But you are together. My heart is still broken over you and Dad and Orval. I feel like a leaf on a tree, trying my best to hang on. Maxi is still hanging in there. My best buddy. Mom, I love you and Daddy so much and Orval. I miss you,and I love you so very much. Beverly

Dear Momma, It has been a little over a year since you left me to join Daddy.Orval died in December. I feel so lost and alone. I moved. Living in Mabank now. Remember Linda and Dewey. They have been wonderful. Maxi is fine. Saw her first armadillo today. Yes, Daddy, we are in the country. I love you both and miss you so bad. It doesn't even seem worth the time to carry on. But I will for Maxi, Tripoli and Lucky died so my little world has fallen down They say death comes in three's. I had it by 5. Wish you would come see me. I love you. Tell Orval Hi .. I miss you all and think of you all the time. Momma, does it ever get easier?

I was so sorry to hear about Joy's passing. She was a lovely lady who always had a smile on her face whenever I came to visit. I will miss that smile, and I will miss her voice and her compassion. I am privileged to have been able to interact with Joy Longacre.

I can’t express how glad I am to have spent time with Joy and her family last month. I so enjoyed getting to know my great aunt and cousin better. My heart is grieved by her loss.

My beloved 'Aunt Joy' will be missed, especially her kind and gentle spirit. Her name was so fitting as she was indeed full of Joy. She embraced life with wit and charm and seemed to live life to it's fullest. It was a treat to have an Aunt who traveled and lived all over the world but always managed to stay "grounded" in the things that mattered.
Today, Easter Sunday, would have been her birthday. I celebrate her life!

I have very fond memories of Aunt Joy and her love of life and her love of beauty. She took great joy in noticing the beauty of nature around her and took time to drink it in. Aunt Joy lived her life. She was known for the wonderful marriage she and Chester built. She was a life-time learner. Joy shared many wonderful moments with my Mom and her sister, Mary James. She loved to travel and had an easy and distinctive laugh. There are specific phrases in my mind that will always be "Aunt Joy sayings" for me. Her daughter, Beverly, gave everything to fulfill Chester request that she "take care of her Mother". I am richer for having known her and she will be missed.

Joy was a very kind, caring person and I enjoyed playing bridge with her. Beverly, you took such good care of your mother and I know that you will miss her.
