kelby was my next door neighbor growing up. he was my first best friend and the only best friend i kept for life. we were inseperable as kids. i'll always remember climbing his tree in his front yard, playing basketball in our driveways, having our talks between his house and my garage, laying on the floor in his room trying to do homework but never accomplishing much, being the one to bring him his school stuff when he hurt his leg, when we'd ride to school together, having the exact same school schedule senior year and becoming really close again like when we were kids, senior prom with cody, him, and kathryn, getting to spend the last night of his life partying at his new place and catching up. i could go on forever. he was a part of my life and i couldn't be more thankful for that. it'll be a year soon and i miss him more everyday. i always wanted to write in this guestbook but it was always to upsetting to see everyones messages so here it is for you kelby. love and miss you. rip neighbor.

Hello Mr West.... Man i miss you...Ive only known u for the time that you were at AT&T but i will tell you....it was a PLEASURE to know the person you were. Its not the same here without you. I feel like a piece of the company is missing. I know you are smiling down at us as we mourn your passing. I will remember your smile the most and the way you always held your head up so high in the air. *smiles* I'm sitting in the back right know at the break room table: where we shared so many stories with each other about our lives...just know that in my heart you will always be remembered and that i will continue to pray for you family; God will strengthen them as they get through the toughest time. We miss you and we love you. "FOREVER YOUNG" Mr.West!!!
Love Kim Benton and the rest of your AT&T Family.

I remember playing with Kelby when we were little at aunt Laura's. As everyone has said, his smile was so contagious! Everytime I saw him at Best Buy he would ask about me, school, and the family. It shocked me because I never thought he'd recognize me but he always did and always talked. Christina, I talked to him a couple times about you and let me tell you, he adores, respects, and was so proud of you just as you were him. Yall will be in my thoughts and prayers and I can only hope that yall will continue to feel Kelby's presence in yalls hearts.

Saying I miss you doesn't seem like it'd be enough. He was my first friend at best buy and that carried over into life. I'll never forget that party he brought me to in HJ. Kelby knew I was having a hard time with stuff and knew just what to do to cheer me up. I never even got to say thank you but knowing Kelby I'm sure he didn't need to hear it. We held it down in best buy selling those cell phones and MP3's. I remember how stoked he was when he got that cobalt, and how close he and Jake were. Always getting into something on the weekends. Even after I moved away for college if I'd come back by the store he'd always make sure I had his number and tell me to call him so we could grab lunch or something before I left. Man I wish i would've. He was a good person with a huge heart and there aren't many people like that around any more. Why God took you so soon i'll never understand. All I know for sure and everyone will agree is that those of us who had Kelby in our lives were a lot better because of it. Rest In Peace
To Kelby's family, I can not tell you how sorry I am for your loss. I can't say i know how you feel because I don't. And nothing I can say will bring Kelby back or I would've already said it. Just know that my life was truly better by having Kelby a part of it. And everyday I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

To the West Family,
I am so very sorry for your loss. My heart breaks for you all, as I couldn't even imagine the sorrow y'all are feeling.Kelby has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, although we were never close, close friends I could always count on looking his way and receiving a bright smile in return. As one of his peers, I can honestly say that his family has done one amazing job raising such a beautiful person. God has a special place in heaven for Kelby, and I have a special place for him in my heart. His kindness and generous manner will never be forgotten. My thought and prayers go out to you all.
