Dear George, I will miss you so much. I just learned of your death today. I am sorry I didn't get to say goodby. I will miss your teaching me so much about the business, our times of prayer together at my store and your wondeful witness for our Lord. I will cherish the painting you did for me, as I'm sure others will. You will be missed by the antique and art lovers from all over. My sincere sympathy to your brother. Jan

George was a dear friend to my grandmother, Doris Mabry. I always enjoyed visiting with him at her home and listening to his quite colorful ideas of life. George will truly be missed!

Sweet George... you will be missed in our lives. The wonderful excitement you always had for art, poetry, beautiful objects, and your genuine love for people and friends will forever be with us. My home is filled with your beautiful art and every day I pass your work as I walk through the rooms of my home and I cherish each piece and am amazed at the talent you shared. I feel so lucky to have known you.

We will miss your phone calls and visits, we will miss your enthusiasm for all things beautiful, including classical music and your love of Mozart. We will miss your sweet smile and your kind heart. You are one of a kind, dear friend. Rest in peace and know that SO MANY loved you.

We met George when we opened our business about a year ago.....
He was an encourager of the highest calliber!
He appreciated beauty of the presence and the past.
He shared his faith with great joy.
He practiced graciousness!
He will be missed.

George was a true friend. Through disagreements, disappointments and all human emotions, George would remain a friend. He was prolific in his paintings and his writings. You may or may not have liked his works, but there will be one piece of work that would have touched you. George was friend who would touch you in a special way.

George was my first art sale way back in 1990. He bought a photo of mine at the Art Studio and we were always friends. I just saw him a few weeks ago and his mind was just as sharp as ever, but his poor old body was giving out on him. I'm glad we got to know him, love him and appreciate him for what he was...a true artist.

Years have passed since I first came in contact with this unique and passionate man. For 15 years I served George almost every day. First at the Mandarin and then at Carlo's. Although we did not always agree and had our share of misunderstandings, George always made every visit to see me interesting. All of us who ever waited on George will think of him at this time, and I feel safe in saying, we will smile. Thanks for opening my eyes to different ways of looking at the world. I will think of you often.
