Dr. Shrontz, what can I say, great man, awesome physician, I worked very closely for many years with him. He saved many lives, and I truly believed he help mold me into the nurse I am today. One of the few Neurosurgeons who took care of kids in our community. When he and his family moved to Brooks Rd, he became a freind of my parents and when they were ill he and his wife would look in on them from time to time. Dr Shrontz's death will be a great lost to our community...Rest in Peace Dr. Shrontz, tell my parents hello for me, you were friends here on earth and I know you will be friends in heaven...Weep not my dear family, for now I am at Peace......

God, Family & Profession is the way he viewed life. The picture of the girls playing in the barnyard that stayed on his desk brought great joy to him. He always stopped to talk & listen. Thank you for sharing him with us. May God bless you and give you comfort in the days and weeks ahead. OOW

Carl was one of my roomates in medical school and although he was younger, adjusted to the rigors better than most. When I dropped out for a year he was always in touch and supportive. Our family has enjoyed the Shrontz family Christmas cards (our favorite) and I enjoyed catching up with Carl via phone a few short weeks ago. We solved all of the nation's health care issues if congress would only listen! Our thoughts and prayers are with the Shrontz family and we rejoice with the memory of a dear friend and fine physician. Laurel and girls...Keep the Christmas cards coming!

Like many others, I knew Dr. Shrotz as my neurosurgeon and he was a great blessing to the Beaumont area. I would like to offer my prayers and sympathies to his family and close friends. I could tell that he never waivered in his commitment to his profession, to his family, and to life. Many owe their health, and some their lives, to his skilled hands. May God bless you with the comfort of His love and peace, both now and in the coming weeks, months and years. ################################### Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7)

In the midst of a terrifying situation involving my father, I had the incredible blessing of meeting Dr. Carl. His sincerity in care, devotion to the patient and family, and his unbelievable compassion made an impression never to be forgotten. Imagine the shock some few years later that my father had been in a horrible vehicle accident and was being rushed to St. E. Upon arrival, only to learn that had it not been for a good Samaritan, dad would not be still alive. This concerned man stopped at the scene only to realize the victim was one of his patients. Dr. Carl amazingly remembered the details of dads condition, his medical allergies, etc., and stayed with dad as if he were family. Upon finally being able to thank Dr. Carl for all he did that night on his personal time, his incredible sense of humor came to life as he knew the stress our family was under in that moment. As a young man at the time, Dr. Carl made quite an impression on me as to what human compassion truly was. Since that time, Carl has been, and will continue to be, the standard by which all physicians in my book are judged by. Southeast Texas has truly lost a remarkable man. A man who only wanted to help others, unknowingly inspire others, and to smile as he enjoyed the blessings of life. I always got a glimpse of the real him whenever I would see him and ask about the horses. I will never forget his laughter as he told me about being kicked by one.
To the family, you have had the great pleasure of not only having Carl, but the joy and pleasure you brought to Carl are to be treasured. You all are in our hearts at this time. May God grant you the peace of acceptance at this time and may He surround you with the live that only He can provide.

Dr. Shrontz was a one of a kind brilliant, caring, and compassionate neurosurgeon! Many years ago, when he was still in Detroit, my brother, Earl Crites, was flown from Beaumont, TX to Detroit, Michigan for a very extensive, intricate, life or death brain surgery. Dr. Shrontz is responsible for saving my brother's life! Years after that, after breaking my back (L1 & L4) and having to eventually undergo 6 back surgeries...Dr. Shrontz is the one to finally get it right and FIX my back!! He completely re-did the previous surgeries and is one of the reasons that I walk today. I am indebted to him. I will always remember him calling me "Repunzel"...as I have very long hair and during surgery that pretty lil blue cap came off and he said they all stood back in awe as my hair kept tumbling and tumbling down. God Bless the Shrontz family, and thank you for sharing him with this community.
