My family and I will truly miss you Dr. Shrontz. I am so sorry for your family. I first met Dr. Shrontz through one of my Angels, Ria Odom in late 1999. A few months later he performed my first back surgery. I was instantly put at ease with him, he was not only sweet, but funny and made me feel completely safe. I saw him again in late 2008 and he performed my second back surgery. Going through cancer myself in 1997, we talked about what he had been going through. Even though he had only shortly been off of treatment, he was so happy and I hoped that he was going to live a long life. He was always so kind to me and my family and I was devastated by this news this morning. I know he is at peace now, but he will be truly missed by so many. God bless your family. You will always be in our thoughts and prayers. He loved you all so much.

Dr. Shrontz was one of the greatest physicians I ever knew. Not only did I work with him as a nurse in the O.R. at St. Elizabeth years ago, he did surgery on me just 6 short weeks ago. When I saw him in the office just a few days ago, he reminded me that our time is in God's hands. He fought the good fight and kept the faith and I know that he is in heaven today. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

To Dr. Shrontz's Family,
I am not a patient of his nor was any of my family but in 1987 our Mom was in ICU at St. Elizabeth hospital for 69 days. Dr. Shrontz had family in the waiting room of his patients who were in ICU. I will never forget his loving compassion towards those family members. He truly CARED for his patients and for those who loved them. He made a huge impression on my heart and I have always told the story of his great kindness. What a wonderful man he was. Beaumont has lost one of the best. May he rest in peace and may God bless you all.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Shrontz family. Dr. Shrontz was such a sweet man. It was always fun to work in his room. No matter what was going on, he was always upbeat. He fought harder than anyone I've ever known. He loved his profession and his family dearly. He will always be remembered with the fondest of thoughts.

In 2004 is was experiencing severe back pain. I had been going to a local bone clinic for almost a year when a friend told me a about Dr. Shrontz. On the first visit he ran the proper test which revealed that I had cancer in my back. He sent me to M. D. Anderson where I was treated. I have been cancer free for five wonderful years. I owe my life to Dr. Shrontz. I will never forget him. His family will always be in my prayers.
